Gallery: Gov. Edwards, CISA Director Easterly celebrate CYBER.ORG Range opening
On Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Director Jen Easterly, Cyber Innovation Center Executive Director/President Craig Spohn, and CIC Vice President Kevin Nolten celebrated the launch of the CYBER.ORG Range at CIC in Bossier City.
The CYBER.ORG Range will help K-12 students build cybersecurity skills through critical free resources and encourage them to join the cybersecurity field while building educator confidence in teaching cybersecurity. Building a qualified and diverse talent pipeline means ensuring that all students (even as young as kindergarten students) are cyber literate. This initiative supports the CISA’s mission to help close the national cybersecurity workforce gap and bolster the national security of the United States.
During Gov. Edwards and Easterly’s visit, the pair were given a tour of CYBER.ORG. They also received a briefing from Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) Chief Scientist Dr. Donna Senft in the STRIKEWERX innovation hub on innovation efforts of CIC’s partnership intermediary agreement with AFGSC.
