New jobs coming to CSRA in Bossier thanks to $166M contract
A $166.9 million contract awarded to CSRA by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) will create about 35-40 new jobs in the near future at the company’s Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City and many more jobs will follow.
CSRA has received the Enterprise Service Operations Center (ESOC) task order award from the DIA, which has a base of one year and four-and-a-half option years.
“As part of the program, CSRA will manage the ESOC – which consists of self-help knowledge portals, remote service desk resolution support and in-field customer engagement support – for the Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems global customers,” according to a release from CSRA. “CSRA will also consolidate and standardize remote and in-field customer support at the enterprise level.”
Services falling under this contract will take place at the ITC in Bossier, as well as other CSRA and government locations around the world.
ITC Director of Operations Ashley Rockett said the company has an agreement with the state of Louisiana to have a total of 800 jobs by June 2018, and this contract will contribute about 35 jobs toward that goal. The center currently employs about 400 technology professionals.
“Today’s announcement that CSRA has secured a $166 million federal contract for enterprise services is a significant achievement and a great opportunity for CSRA’s Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City,” said Don Pierson, secretary of Louisiana Economic Development. “This is one of many technology engagements that the company’s ITC will support in Louisiana, where CSRA’s employment eventually will ramp up to 800 professionals.”
To fill jobs related to this contract, the ITC will have an immediate need for employees in the area with a top secret clearance. An IT background is preferred. As the contract grows over time, there will be a need for employees who would qualify for clearance.
“DIA’s critically important mission to produce, analyze and disseminate military intelligence information means that they require a dependable IT support system and efficient service,” said Leigh Palmer, CSRA executive vice president, Intelligence Group, in the news release. “Leveraging more than 50 years of enterprise IT experience, and an outstanding team with significant know-how, we will serve as the first point of contact to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively and empower our customers to seek solutions via self-help knowledge portals.”
The ITC will open a new, 96,000 square-foot “state-of-the-art IT delivery center” on Nov. 15.
“We’re excited that CSRA continues to fulfill the promise we envisioned when we announced their selection of Northwest Louisiana just two years ago and their partnership with our Cyber Innovation Center at the National Cyber Research Park,” Pierson said.
