Les Guice will be Louisiana Tech University’s next president.

Guice, executive vice president and vice president for research and development at Louisiana Tech, was selected unanimously by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors after his final interview of the search process Tuesday morning.

He will take the place of Dan Reneau, who announced in September that he will be retiring at the end of June after 26 years in the position.

Guice, a Tech alumnus, has spent the past 34 years of his career at the university in various faculty and administrative positions.

Last Thursday, a search committee selected Guice as the lone finalist out of nine applicants.
