The Cyber Innovation Center (CIC), through its National Integrated Cyber Education
Research Center (NICERC), has provided the Military Student Transition  Consultant (MSTC) for Bossier Parish a website to aid military students and  families before they arrive in Bossier Parish. The goal of the MSTC website is  to provide pertinent information regarding local education programs and unique  academic matters related to military transitions. In addition, the website  provides military families with information and resources on local community  programs and regional events. Whether families are preparing to transition to  Bossier Parish or are already stationed here, the website offers a variety of  valuable information.

Georgette Price was positioned to serve as the MSTC in Bossier Parish in August of 2012. Recognizing the unique demands placed on military families through frequent moves and deployment, the community has contracted with the Military Child Education Coalition® to hire a MSTC. The MSTC is responsible for partnering with Bossier Parish Schools and the Barksdale Air Force Base School Liaison Officer (SLO) to assist in the transition and orientation of military families and students into the local school districts. Through the MSTC, families and students are provided with educational opportunities, resources, and information necessary to achieve academic success. Initial funding for this position was provided by Barksdale Forward, the Cyber Innovation Center, the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation, and the Military Affairs Council.
